A men's retreat with James Alison, Richard Rohr, Thomas Vozzo

Preparations are underway to share a profound retreat experience with you in the Jemez Valley of New Mexico!
We invite you to read the book The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage so you can arrive with a strong sense of 'not knowing' what to expect and a curious, open heart.
Keep in mind the site of the retreat, Hummingbird Music Camp, is rustic and humble. Located in the majestic Jemez wilderness, it is a place that will remind you of childhood summers at camp, serving your basic needs and with opportunities to enjoy sacred time in nature. Be prepared for an impactful, “off the grid “experience!
The retreat, inspired by Richard Rohr’s newest book will be led by three internationally recognized teachers.
The presenters include Richard Rohr, a Franciscan friar and ecumenical teacher whose work bears witness to the deep wisdom of Christian mysticism and the prophetic tradition; James Alison, a Catholic priest, author, and theologian, noted for his work on LGBTQ issues; and Thomas Vozzo, a highly successful business executive and the former CEO of Homeboy Industries.
We invite you to prioritize attending 'The Prophets Path.'
Bring your curiosity, vulnerability, angst, shame, anger, heartbreak, frustration, confusion, and of course, your authentic self.
Join us and spread the word!

For those of you traveling from lower elevations, it is important for you to be aware of the effects that high altitude can have on your body. As you ascend to a higher elevation, barometric pressure decreases, the air is thinner, and less oxygen is available. Your body’s normal response to these changes is shortness of breath, mild to moderate headache, nausea, loss of appetite, and/or fatigue.
These symptoms usually go away in a day or two. Altitude sickness, though usually minor, can become serious. If you experience symptoms, slow down. If they intensify, speak to one of the designated emergency contacts (listed below). Upon arrival moderate your activity for the first 24 hours. Drink more water than usual and reduce caffeine and salt intake The weather can be exhilarating, but it’s also very dry in New Mexico. You lose more fluid than you realize when you sweat and when you exhale. Allow your body to adjust by taking it easy for the first day or two. It is also very important to maintain your body fluids by drinking 2–3 times more liquid than usual. Juices and water are better for you than caffeinated beverages, which can cause dehydration. Sun is more powerful at higher elevations. Use a protective head covering and a sunblock when outdoors.
