Join your Brothers from New Mexico for their monthly council gathering for all men designed to be a compliment to our weekly council circles.
Our regular monthly men's council at the Center for Action and Contemplation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 9-11am. Geno will be our Council Carrier. There is some advance work to do...
As we all know transformation is a process not necessarily a single event. It seems most of us would choose the single transformative event variety, but in reality most of us have to settle for the slow, glacially slow, process of change within our own hearts and in society as well. However, as Initiated Men, we consciously create liminal space where we can invite and welcome transformation that makes a difference in the world.
Oscar Romero, was an outspoken critic of oppression and advocate of social justice. However, his journey was also a process not a singular event. And although he will be recognized as St. Romero / Santo Romero in October 2018, he was a human being in need of transformation. In fact, Richard Rohr has stated that Oscar Romeo could serve as an archetype for the work of Illuman.
In that spirit, we ask that you watch “ROMERO” (link below) and come to the next meeting as we ask ourselves:
- What kind of work would I be doing, if I wasn’t afraid?
- How would I be living, if I asked God to remove this fear?
- Could you pray, from the heart, with Oscar Romero:
- God - I can’t. You Must. I am Yours. Show me the way.
All men on a spiritual journey are welcome.
